The current investment markets are challenging most Australian investors. The ASX Australian Investor Study 2017 (Deloitte surveyed 4,000 investors) found 75% of share owners hold only Australian shares (outside institutional super). SMSF trustees allocate less than 10% of assets to international equities, yet global share markets are up strongly over 2017 but Australia is flat.
